A Martini at Angel Face in PDX

Dirty Junipero gin martini at Angel Face in Portland, a cocktail lounge my buddy Jon Black recommended with the added descriptor, “a great local spot that has more of a spoken menu vibe.” Wasn’t sure what that would translate to, but he’s dead on. There’s no official cocktail menu. No Flaming Susans, Wilted Roustabouts or Henry Hank Swizzles with a twist to be found. Instead, it’s one of those places where you start saying what you feel like, and the bartender starts nodding--‘Yeah, yeah. I hear you.’—then returns with a drink mirroring your mood, or better yet, the mood you desire.
