Happy Hour: The Rum Old Fashioned
This Rum Old Fashioned tweaks the classic formula with a simple swapping out of bourbon for aged rum.
1½ oz. Santa Teresa 1796 solera rum
¼ oz. Demerara syrup (1:1)
4 dashes Angostura bitters
Tools: mixing glass, barspoon, strainer
Glass: double Old Fashioned
Garnish: lemon or orange peel
Combine all the ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Stir to combine and chill. Strain over a large ice cube in a double Old Fashioned glass. Twist an orange or lemon peel over the drink to release the oils, then use as a garnish.
